The Royal Mint issued a new coin in the collection dedicated to the Moon Year. The 2020 coin highlights the symbol of this year's year, the rat, which opens a new lunar calendar cycle. According to legend, 12 animals participated in the race to determine the order of the lunar calendar. The competition included the passing of the river, which the rat could not cross first. To win, it came up with the idea of crossing the river on a bull and then jump and run to the finish line. That's why the rat is the symbol of the first year in the 12-year cycle of the lunar calendar.
The coin is covered with Ruthenium and has the additional coloring of some details. Ruthenium gives the bullion a beautiful graphite shade, which makes the silver element contrast with the background. The primary color accents of this coin are red roses and green stems. The name of the collection and the rat's figure saved the silver color, but some text is red. There is also a Chinese sign to highlight the origin of the lunar calendar. The other side shows Elizabeth II's portrait and a legend with information about the coin's issue. Coins with the symbol of the year always will be an excellent actual gift, and investment in silver bullions as well.
