One of the most significant events in the history of American culture is the American Revolution or the War of Independence. It is also the first of its kind to create a country that is not subordinate to the monarchy and has no stratum of nobility in society. The history of the event began quite usually with public discontent with high taxes. And it was quite reasonable: taxes in America were collected, among other things, to withhold England and India. But very quickly, this discontent grew into a real march for freedom, justice, and sovereignty. The driving force in this revolution was the so-called "Sons of Liberty," who organized the most complex and dangerous actions and provocations. Colonists across America organized and collaborated to launch the war for liberation and the proclamation of the United States of America. They created entire guerrilla groups, and even with little experience, managed to defeat the British army.
The coin "Liberty Varnish Faces 1" shows a portrait of a representative of this movement, behind which the American flag is flying. He's armed with a rifle and is in a defensive position. The image of the colonist is in color, and the coin is coated with a transparent varnish. The reverse is completely covered with gold, and some elements of decoration on the obverse have gilding too.
If you want to buy more coins from the "Faces of America" series, you will find ten different options. A great excuse to put together a new collection of silver coins!

I love this historic collection
Review by Kendall (Posted on July 07, 2020)I like to collect themed coins with meaning. It's one of those collections. I love retro design, but I never thought I'd get one of those coins. It's perfect.
