In the "Jewish Holidays" collection, you will find collectible coins dedicated to different essential holidays. These include Sukkot, a holiday rich in tradition and filled with special meaning. Buying silver coins to celebrate this joyful holiday is an excellent idea for a gift or your collection.
The holiday comes five days after Yom Kippur. This order is not accidental, because only after achieving purification and redemption in Yom Kippur, you can enjoy the holiday Sukkot. During the festival, Jews remember their ancestors, who came out of Egypt and roamed through the desert for 40 years. All these years, they lived in huts, which could be quickly dismantled and moved to a new place. In memory of those huts, every year on holiday, Sukkot builds shelters (succot) near the houses. To make sukkot look festive, it is customary to decorate it with garlands, drawings, fresh fruit, and flowers. People eat in temporary buildings (shawls and tents) in memory of those days when after the exodus from Egypt, Jews lived in tents in the desert. The holiday falls on a critical period in the agricultural calendar - the end of a six-month drought and the beginning of a rainy period.
On this collectible silver coin, you can see many symbols of the feast. On the obverse, at the bottom right, in the rising sun, there is an image of a traditional hut. To the power of the Walking Liberty is an ornamental stone ornament in orange and yellow in the form of Etrog (fruit of a citrus tree). On the background of the coin, there is an image with four traditional plants, which are also used in the construction and decoration of the shack.
