Liberty Opal Pig

The year 2019 is the year of the Pig (or Boar), according to the eastern calendar. The "Liberty Opal Pig" coin was issued in honor of this symbol of 2019. It was preceded by the year of the dog, and in 2020 the year of the rat will come. The pig completes the 12-year cycle of this calendar, and from next year a new one will come. All animals in a horoscope have their characteristics. Apart from animals, the eastern horoscope is based on five elements: Earth, Tree, Fire, Metal, and Water. These five elements are all living creatures and objects in the world, according to the beliefs of ancient Chinese. Accordingly, each animal receives four different variations, and therefore the entire cycle takes 60 years instead of 12, as is commonly believed.

The coin consists of pure silver and has a unique thematic design. The design of the coin comes in gentle shades. The background pattern is made in neutral beige tones, and you can see traditional Chinese lanterns on it.
