Currently, a single-dollar coin is found much less frequently than a paper dollar as a means of payment. Despite efforts by the government to promote it, most Americans use banknotes. For this reason, the U.S. Mint does not issue coins in total turnover; since 2011, all dollar coins are intended exclusively for collectors.
The coins in the Liberty Music Super Star series depict artists and their autographs who have contributed significantly to the development of music.
Louis Armstrong is an outstanding trumpeter and vocalist, jazz promoter, composer, and actor. This great man is depicted on a one-dollar coin covered with a thin layer of gilding, minted from the .999 silver. In front of L. Armstrong, there is a "Walking Freedom" - a design of Adolf A. Weinmann, which was originally used on the half-dollar coin. Not far from the image of Louis Armstrong, there is a star made of Druze, the so-called sparkling mineral aggregate with the brilliant effect of tiny crystals. In the lower part of the obverse of the entire series of Liberty Music Super Star coins, the year of issue is marked, slightly higher is the official motto of the United States "In God We Trust." The reverse shows a heraldic eagle behind the shield, grabbing an olive branch with its right claws and left arrows. Thirteen five-pointed stars are depicted above the eagle, representing the thirteen colonies that declared their independence in 1776. The Latin expression "E Pluribus Unum" is written on the banner holding the eagle in its beak. You can buy silver coin to your collection with a discount, if add more than two items in the cart.
