Details

The legendary AC/DC group has been pleasing fans for 47 years now. During this time, they have gathered a real army of fans from all over the world, and their concerts are breaking records in terms of spectacularity and attendance. Today, this band has moved into the category of classic rock pieces. It's heard by people of all ages from all over the world. That's why the Cook Islands launched a series of coins dedicated to legendary rockers.

This coin will suit you if you're looking for a gift for a classic rock fan. But if you are a fan of yourself, then you need to buy silver coins from this series for your collection. The coin has a non-standard weight - half an ounce of .999 silver. This coin has a very stylish packaging. The box is made in black and has a bright red group logo on the lid. Inside the box, you will find the coin in a neat transparent round case.

The coin is named after the band's album of the same name. It also has an alternative name, "We Salute You," and this album is especially important in the career of the band. It was the first AC/DC album to win the charts, including the famous Billboard 200 hit parade. On the obverse of the coin, you can see a song similar to the album cover. In the center of the composition is a cannon, under the wheels of which is placed the logo of the band. They are made in an attractive textured technique, and look like "rust," and also reminds you of the main color of the album cover. A little lower, there is a smaller inscription with the name of the album itself.

The latest release of this successful collection is dedicated to another million selling album (No 1 in US) from these hard rock icons. With the release of this hit record the band went on tour for more than one year. Still today, the title song is always the last song of an AC/DC concert with firing cannons on stage. For those about to rock is also a variation of the phrase “We who are about to die, salute you”, which is how ancient gladiators greeted their emperor when entering the arena. Angus Young got the idea for the title of the song after reading a book about the ancient gladiator games. This ½ oz silver coin showcases a historic cannon and has a diameter of 38.61 mm with a striking proof finish.
